Do you have a senior session coming up and aren’t quite sure what to bring with you? I’ve been photographing seniors for over 10 years and have plenty of knowledge about what to bring to make your photo session a fun and stress-free experience.

Clothing
Outfits: Depending on how many outfits your package includes, it’s always a good idea to arrive dressed in your first outfit of choice.
Layering Pieces: Cardigans or jackets are advisable even for summer sessions. The weather can turn chilly quickly in the evening, especially in the mountains and beach areas. Additionally, these layers can add a nice touch to your timeless images.
Footwear:
Comfortable shoes for walking will help you move easily between locations. You can change into your nice shoes when it's time for the photos.
Nice shoes for the pictures.
Accessories: Include hats, jewelry, sunglasses, chiffon scarves, and belts to add that special touch to your images.
Personal Items
Makeup Kit: For Touch-Ups
Makeup touch-up items (lipstick, powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc.)
Oil blotting sheets (coffee filters work just as well)
Q-tips for correcting makeup mishaps (such as runny lipstick, mascara, or eyeshadow)
Hair Kit: For Quick Fixes
Bobby pins (to keep hair out of your face during some poses)
Travel hairspray (to prevent hair from getting in your face and eyes)
Tissues: For a runny nose (very common when the weather gets chilly)
Bug Spray: Bugs love summer nights, so bring your favorite bug spray to avoid getting bitten. Here’s a favorite recipe of mine that I swear by; it’s all-natural and easy to make: Vanilla Bug Spray Recipe.
Water: Very important during summer sessions.
Snacks: To maintain energy. Photo sessions are fun but can be tiring, especially towards the end. Bringing a sugary snack can help keep your eyes from looking tired in pictures and maintain your smile until the end.
Sunscreen: Important if the session is during the day; if it's during golden hour, you should be fine without it.
Towel: For wiping down your feet in case you get into the water for some shots or get dirt or sand on your feet and clothing.
Props
Sports Equipment: If applicable, like a soccer ball or basketball
Instruments: If musically inclined, bring an instrument
Books: Favorite books for a unique shot
Personal Items: Such as trophies, yearbook, or special mementos
Planning
Location: Save the address of your location in your navigation system. Discuss with your photographer where you will meet and how you will stay in contact.
Timing: Plan to arrive at least a half hour early to make last-minute touch-ups to your makeup and hair, adjust your outfits, eat a snack, drink some water, and use the restroom. This will help ease any stress.
Contact Information: Ensure you have your photographer's best contact information to avoid getting lost.
Having all of these items on hand will greatly enhance your experience during your senior photo session, making it both fun and easy.
