There’s something truly special about getting to photograph the same families year after year. Watching them grow, change, and yet stay so connected—it’s one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer. This beautiful family is one of my dearest repeat clients, and every fall I look forward to their session as if I’m catching up with old friends.
This year, we met at Rattlesnake Lake, one of my favorite locations for fall family photos. The mountains were draped in golden and crimson hues, the air was crisp, and the lake shimmered under the soft afternoon light—an absolutely perfect backdrop for this gorgeous family of four.
Mom and Dad are always such naturals in front of the camera, and their two boys, now about 9 and 10, bring the best energy to every session. They’re at that fun age where they still love to run, laugh, and explore, which makes for the most genuine, joy-filled photos. Between the playful moments and the sweet in-between shots, we captured everything from laughter to quiet connection.
What I love most about photographing them each year is seeing how their bond deepens—both as a family and as friends. There’s a level of comfort and trust that builds over time, and it allows me to capture their true personalities so effortlessly.
As the sun dipped behind the mountains, painting the sky with a soft golden glow, we wrapped up the session feeling full of gratitude (and a little chilly!). It was one of those evenings that remind me exactly why I love what I do—preserving memories and watching families grow through my lens.
Until next fall, my friends. 🍁
