Cherry Blossom Maternity Photo Session at Washington Park Arboretum 2026

I had an absolute blast capturing these magical maternity pictures during one of my most favorite seasons, the cherry blossom season in Seattle.

Due to an unexpected warm weather the blossom came much earlier than they usually do. This worked in favor of my client, who really was hoping to capture blossoms in her session but because of her due date we werent' sure if it was going to be possible. I guess Mother Nature had other plans!

One of the drawbacks is that this is also a very popular time for everyone in Seattle area to enjoy the blossoms as well, which makes it very difficult to take pictures without having people in the background or having to wait for certain areas to free up to take pictures.

Due to weather and various appointment we had to do a Saturday. I was really nervouse but hoped that a later time frame would free up some space for us because I figured most people would come during day time for view the blossoms and most will leave by evening time. My predictions was correct! When we arrive we were able to find parking easily and it was fairly easy to take pictures without having to fight for good spots.

The mother to be was glowing! Her dazzling warm smile so full of excitement and hopes. You could feel the happiness and love between her and her husband and I was determined to capture this feeling and freeze it in time. So many years from now they will look back on thier pictures and be reminded of how excited and full on anticipations they were waiting for thier little ones arrival.

My client looked absolutely stunning! She has decided on a fusia gown which complimented the pink cherry blossoms so perfectly you couldn't have planned it any better. I had no trouble getting lots of nice different poses with her. She was such a natural you would think she's been having professional pictures taken her whole life.

We walked around the area, stopping at all the pretty spots to have nice backgrounds. Session went all the way untell the sun went down. It was a bit cloudy but I was happy with that because I didn't have to worry about harsh light, which gave me lot's of options for as to where and at what angles I could take pictures.

Towards the end everyone was exhausted but extemely happy at the same time. The pictures came out absolutely amazing! The timing of the final images being delivered to my client couldn't have been more perfect! She had just welcomed her precious baby boy! What a perfect gift! I wish them a life full of happiness and joy!
