A Magical Senior Photoshoot at Tipsoo Lake with a Seattle Senior Photographer Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to be a Seattle Senior Photographer for a fun photoshoot at Tipsoo Lake in Washington State, near the stunning Mt. Rainier National Park. This location is truly breathtaking, filled with colorful wildflowers and incredible views of the mountains, making it the perfect backdrop for my client, a beautiful girl getting ready to start her senior year of high school!

The Perfect Time for Photos We took the pictures just a few hours before sunset, one of the best times for photography because the light is soft and warm. Even though it was a little chilly and cloudy, that actually helped the photos turn out absolutely gorgeous. With the clouds diffusing the sunlight, we avoided harsh shadows, making sure that my client looked fantastic in every shot!

Using Cool Camera Gear As a Bellevue Senior Photographer, I always aim to use quality camera gear. For this session, I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and two fantastic lenses: a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens for stunning portraits and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens for closer shots. These lenses helped me capture both the picturesque scenery surrounding her and some close-up looks that showcased her personality.

Capturing Fun Moments The focus of our photoshoot was a cheerful girl who brought along three outfits that radiated a fun, summer vibe. She felt completely at ease in front of the camera, which helped us create many wonderful candid moments. Even though Tipsoo Lake can get busy with other visitors, we creatively worked around that by framing the photos to keep distractions out of the background.

A Fairytale Feel During the shoot, I aimed to give the images a fairytale-like atmosphere. I drew inspiration from classic stories and the natural beauty of the area. The mixture of the enchanting setting and my client’s adventurous spirit made for countless memorable interactions. Once the shoot was done, I used Photoshop to enhance the skies and backgrounds, giving the photos a magical feeling that truly reflected that beautiful day at the lake. The final images turned out amazing and perfectly captured the essence of this special moment.
