Senior Session At Clé Elum, WA | Cle Elum Senior Photographer

My son finally let me take pictures of him. He really doesn't like to have his pictures taken and I was actually really surprised that he would let me do it.

I can't believe that he is all grown up. It seems that only yesterday he was a little eight year old boy that moved to Seattle from Los Angeles.

I was so worried about how he would adjust to his new environment. He embraced it full on. Now he loves Washington!

He goes mountain biking, bouldering, crazy of trail hiking with his friends all the time, and he got his scuba diving license and went scuba diving in Hawaii and here in Washington.

He loves the mountains so we've decided that we should do his senior pictures up at Liberty,WA. Only a few miles from Cle Elum, WA.

We go camping up in the mountains there all the time, and I knew the area like the back of my hand.

We've decided to do his pictures while camping there. We've packed up our camper and up we went. He brought a friend along for fun, and they went bouldering all day long.

I don't think we should have done that. Between cooking campfire meals, gathering wood, and boys going off bouldering, my times got messed up and we didn't do it at my preferred time, which is about a couple hours before sunset.

We ended up doing the shoot around 1pm. Which is not my favorite time. The light is too harsh. But that's the only time we could do it.

We got in the car and just drove around to all the fun places to take his pictures. I'm happy how they've turned out, but the light was so bad in some of our favorite places that I couldn't get really good pictures there.

If I had to do it all over again I would have insisted on doing it at the right time. But, I'm a bit of a pushover when it comes to my children. If this was my client I would have done it the right way.
