Snow Maternity Photoshoot at Snoqualmie Pass
What a hectic day it was as I ventured out to Snoqualmie Pass for one of my snow maternity photoshoots during the holidays! I knew when I arrived that it would be a special kind of day – the kind of day that will leave a lasting memory in both my mind and my camera lens.
The weather had been perfect throughout the week – cold, but not too cold; the sun was out and I knew in that that would make the pictures even more beautiful. But by the time I got there, the snow had already started to fall. While this made for some spectacularly beautiful shots in the first few minutes of the shoot, I was quickly running behind as I had to take time between shots to brush off the snow and ice that was accumulating on the ground and on my model’s outfit.
I'd also barely had time to set up the backdrop for the shoot when the sun started to set. And with it the cold temperatures descended – It was the coldest maternity shoot I had taken all year! But I didn't give up. I wrapped my model in some extra clothing and we kept on going.
As the weather cooled and the wind picked up, everything was going smoothly – We were getting great shots and enjoying the atmosphere. Unfortunately, that too wouldn't last. Eventually, the cold got to be too much and we ended the shoot early. But despite the cold, I felt blessed to have such a beautiful experience.
The pictures I captured this day truly captured the beauty of the season and I'm so grateful that I was able to get these lasting photos of my amazing model in the snow. Now all that's left to do is find the perfect spot and share the photos with you!
